Roots was born from a straightforward concept and the drive to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots. They were motivated by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. Launching in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to offer high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber garments, and home goods. The leather items have consistently been, and still are, crafted in Canada at our own facility in Toronto.
